ONE OF A KIND CAPSULE

Utilizing physics, our 38mm capsule is designed to emulate the sound of an entire signal chain.

custom-crafted work of art

In addition to the warmth and color derived from an EF806s tube, the Eden LT-386 is also equipped with a custom-wound, U.S.-made output transformer that puts the finishing touches on every sound that passes through its copper windings.

high-pass

Eden's high-pass switch shapes the color and saturation characteristics.
HIGH-PASS FLAT
The microphone's full frequency spectrum is passed to the transformer for maximum color and saturation.
HIGH-PASS MID
Subtly reduces low-end and transformer saturation. Increases clarity in the midrange and high frequencies, while maintaining low-end density and power.
HIGH-PASS MAX
Clean, clear, mix-dominant vocal performance with minimal saturation. When paired with the Forward Multi-Voicing® selection, Eden's sound becomes bright and modern.

polar patterns

Eden's selectable polar pattern switch determines what the microphone hears.
FIGURE-8
Figure-8 captures sound equally from the front and back of the microphone for a more open, natural recording.
CARDIOID
Cardioid captures sound from the front of the microphone only. This is the most commonly used polar pattern for recording vocals with minimal room reflections.
OMNIDIRECTIONAL
Omnidirectional captures sound equally from all sides of the microphone for authentic, "in-the-room" instrument or vocal recordings.

"My friend and artist I produce, Marc Martel, had been through every mic on the market, we even went to Blackbird and demoed over forty vintage microphones, and it wasn’t until I got him the Eden to try that he fell in love. From focused tools built for precision to hybrid designs that adapt to any creative situation, Lauten Audio are crafting microphones for how we record today."

EDEN FAQS

Frequently asked questions for Eden LT-386

How does the Eden compare to Atlantis?

Through its MultiVoicing circuitry, the Eden covers a wide range of sounds found in highly desirable vintage tube microphones, while offering far greater control over transformer and tube saturation than classic designs. The Atlantis, in contrast, covers a wide range of sounds found in vintage FET microphones, although it is sometimes mistaken for a tube microphone. It’s important to note that the Eden is not a tube version of the Atlantis, and that neither of these microphones is, in any way, a copy of a vintage microphone.

Why would I use the high-pass filter on the Eden versus the one on my preamp?

The high-pass filter circuit in the Eden is positioned after the tube, but before the MultiVoicing and transformer sections. This unique placement allows you to shape not only the low-frequency response but also the color and saturation characteristics of the microphone within each of its three MultiVoicing settings, something a preamp’s high-pass filter cannot do.

What makes a tube microphone like Eden so valuable?

The Eden provides access to three distinctly voiced tube microphones in one, offering the performance of multiple vintage microphones for less than the cost of a single classic model. To change between them, all you have to do is flip a switch.
