Description

The Horizon Tube Microphone is designed to be a workhorse – a multi-purpose microphone that sounds great in the mix and on a large variety of applications. Its sound is full-bodied which users describe as airy highs, thick luscious mids, and a tight fat bottom-end. This microphone is so versatile it can be used for both studio and live recording with great success.

With two different mounting options supplied with each microphone, it is very easy to maneuver the Horizon into the sweet spot. Designed with a slightly higher output, it can be less dependent on the preamp should that be the preference. Adding to the Horizon's usability are two pad selections that reduce its output by either 10 or 20 decibels, allowing very loud sound sources to be recorded without overload.

Internally, the microphone features a large-diaphragm capsule that accurately captures a broad frequency range. The tube is a unique, new-old-stock, military grade pentode that lends the microphone its superior tone and longevity. The electronics include the world's finest high-resolution capacitors and a custom-designed precision wound transformer that work together to achieve superior output quality.

You simply won't find another microphone that can match the Horizon's component quality, sound, and value on the market today.

What people say

“I can't say enough how great the Horizon was on the floor tom. And the guitar amp sounds with the two mics (ST-221 & Horizon) is....well, it's sick, really, how good it is. ”
Ken Stringfellow, The Posies, REM, The Disciplines

“Everything about the mic is solid and very attractive.”
“…there’s a familiar harmonic richness to the top end that I associate with other tube condensers, like Ela M 251 and U 67’s”
“If you’re in the market for a condenser mic in this price range, I would give the Horizon serious consideration, as it delivers a sophisticated richness that I associate with mics many times the price.”

Allen Farmelo, TapeOp Magazine

"...one guitarist claimed that this was the best-recorded guitar
sound he had ever gotten."
"...the Horizon could easily become my go-to mic for most voiceover work."

"After whittling it down to 3 possibles from 10 in all cases in a blind test the Horizon rose to the top beating out mics 5 times the price, needless to say my client took it..."
Matt Allison

"We often record dialogue and are more than surprised at what the Horizon delivers in this area. Sometimes you need to listen to hear the difference. But with the Horizon you just hear it."
